For the last couple of years I haven’t really been wearing a lot of bright candy colors. For some reason they have always made me really self-conscious…especially a candy colored pink! Bright pink has always gone hand-in-hand in my mind with the popular girls from junior high who sat at the cool table, flirted with all of the popular guys and giggled while their sequin neon pink Limited Too dress seemed to sparkle in the cafeteria florescent lights.
I figured it was probably about time to get rid of this notion considering I haven’t set foot in a junior high school in longer than I will admit on here! So I found a bright top (yes, I chose pink, go big or go home I figured), and started working on amending my outdated junior high fears. After getting inspiration from Pinterest, fellow bloggers and Elle Woods (hehe), I decided to post a blog on it. Although I felt a little…bright at first, I ended up loving the color. It seemed to flatter my skin tone and made my hair and dark features stand out. Clear, bold colors do wonders in general for most skin types and are great when paired with neutrals and a few bright accessories. So if you have been avoiding color, I recommend rocking it! If you’re already known as Rainbow Brite, more power to you.
