3 Ways to Kick Depression When It’s Down
#2 Find Out What You Need
Depending on how I feel or how bad the depression is will determine what I need.
-If I feel more numb and tired I try to get out of the house and do something fun or stay busy. The gym is a great idea, or even going for a walk.
-If I feel really sad and emotional sometimes I just need to get it out. Sometimes your body needs the release and a little cry can be good for you. Make sure that once you get out a good cry, freshen up and then get out of the house or stay busy so you can keep yourself from feeling numb and disinterested.
-If you’re going through an extreme low period you may need to consider getting outside help from a doctor. Sometimes it’s necessary to talk to an expert so they can help you evaluate the best things for you to do.
#3 Keep Yourself Engaged
Once you initially figure out what you need and get yourself going. Make sure to keep yourself continuously engaged. Usually I go through periods where my depression is better and more controllable, sometimes it’s a little harder to manage. When I’m going through a more difficult time I have to make sure and continuously keep myself engaged. I tend to fill up my schedule a bit more (with fun things as well). If you can’t find things to schedule, make sure you have things around the house you can do that make you feel like you are accomplishing something. DIY projects, word games/puzzles are all good options.
Hope this can be a little helpful to you!
Some of my favorite spring items are int he colors and details. I love blue and white for spring and summer outfits. It has a fresh classic feel and pairs great with a red lip. Details are also key with classic outfits. This year I’m loving straw hats, sunglasses and tassel necklaces (especially these necklaces form CS Gems right now).
