2. Person Words of Assurance: I would actually look in the mirror and mentally say to myself, “You look good!” I know this sounds really silly, but it really does help SO much if you have a hard time with your self esteem. I used to always look in the mirror and focus on my flaws, but these over inflated words of self-esteem started to get me to focus on the good things. These words can also be words to assure yourself you are smart, funny or competent in whatever way you feel inadequate.
BEAUTY ON THE OUTSIDE:
Since I’m a child of the 90’s and early 00’s, I was drawn to the return of grunge style! However, I am not young enough to pull off shredded tees and cropped tops on a daily basis. A lot of us find styles repeating in our lives, but it can be hard to wear them again; especially when we feel like they remind us too much of our high school days. I’ve set out to find a more sophisticated grunge style that is more cohesive with this phase in my life, and this is what I came up with. I paired a silver sequin sleeve tee with black jeans, a wool hat and layered necklace, complete with wedge lace-up booties. For a more sophisticated look, keep yourself more covered, but use fun details to make it look more edgy. Layered statement necklaces and black jeans definitely do the trick. I also think more youthful details like the wedge booties give it more of a grunge feel, but without looking too much like you’re trying to live in the past. I am also usually a gold jewelry person all the way, however, silver usually suggests grunge more than gold. My favorite piece is the silver sequin sleeve tee (Greenish-cutest little company), it added a little extra fun pop to the outfit.
