BABY BOY’S NURSERY REVEAL
Can you believe Everett is already 8 months old?! It definitely took me long enough to finish his nursery, any other moms out there the same way? It took me so long to sift through baby nursery themes to create one that fit us perfectly. Ultimately, I love how my baby boy’s nursery turned out! It’s calming, a little modern, but still kid oriented. Here are a few things I found helpful when decorating his nursery.
#1 Start with an anchor. A rug anchors the room and sets the tone faster than almost any other piece of decor. I got mine from RUGS USA and absolutely love it, they have a huge selection and their prices are surprisingly affordable! They even have an entire kids section.
#2 A statement piece. It’s important to have a statement piece in a room, it helps make it look more put together. Mine was his triangle mobile I made (some DIY project posts coming soon)! I wanted something that made it feel like a baby boy nursery, yet was still modern and fresh.
#3 Wall decor/varying heights. I like varying heights for the decor in the room, I also feel like continuing the decor high up the ceiling brings your eye upward and makes the room look larger and less bottom heavy.
#4 Get a crib that will last. We chose a crib and other nursery furniture that we can use for either gender and this crib even turns into a bed if we choose to use it for that purpose. Furniture lasts awhile, so plan for it!
#5 Use what you have. Decorating gets expensive, so a lot of his bookshelf items I found at my house, my grandmother or my mom’s house. I also refinish a lot of furniture (like that mini bench I used as a table in his room), and take on DIY projects.
I got a lot of my inspiration from searching Pinterest for baby boy nursery themes and kid rooms, are any of you going to Pinner’s Conference this year? Utah’s is this weekend!
Have a Happy Halloween, and thanks for looking!
