Before I started blogging, I remember looking at girls in social media and thinking that they were beautiful, fashionable, interior design experts with perpetually clean houses and kids that did nothing but smile and keep their clothes sparking white…the picture of perfection. Personally, I am so far from fitting into this perfect scene. Since the time I was young, I’ve dealt with a combination of depression, OCD and ADD (quite the trifecta, right?). I wasn’t officially diagnosed with all three until my late twenties. Dealing with everything without medicine or counseling for over twenty-five years, gave me some unique personal experience on how to cope. After my diagnoses, I began researching those three things and found that some of my coping techniques that were successful, actually fit well with a lot of the advice the books were giving. This research, combined with my personal experience, helped me understand myself a lot better; giving me more control over myself that I have ever had before. Over the years, I’ve had a lot of friends open up to me about their battles with these three things and asked me for advice; thus my blog was born!
I decided to combine positive things that keep me happy and motivated (being a mom, fashion, beauty, interior design, food, etc.), and pair them with tips on living a happy life even with depression, anxiety and/or attention deficit disorder. There were so many times during my teens and early twenties that I lost hope. I’ve even had some people people close to me take their lives, or try to take their lives. I wanted to write something that could give my friends (and strangers) that deal with these things hope. I want them to know that happiness is more that possible, and it does get easier.
Thank you to everyone for reading and following, it truly amazes me that people take the time to read what I have to write. This blog is definitely not possible without all of you!
